I couldn't have been more thrilled to play a small part in the most iconic costume this Halloween. have been wanting to work with stylist, Jill Jacobs for awhile. I would send her emails monthly reaching out to see if there were any projects for which I could be a good fit for. Then around the same time when I decided to finally move to LA, I get an email from Jill and her team requesting some items, then another email requesting customs. This led me to this project, Kylie Jenner as Marilyn Monroe for the cover of V Magazine.
It was super last minute and had absolutely nothing to do with clothes. Jill has an eye for details and wanted everything to match the original Marilyn Monroe "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" exactly, down to the shoes. So I rhinestoned a pair of black Valentino heels based on a reference Jill provided.
The shoes are not in any of the shots. Cue delirious laughing. Honestly I was happy to be able to play a small part in the costume. My experience was a perfect depiction of what being in the fashion industry is all about. From the outside, all the work is not always shown when in reality hours upon hours go into getting that perfect look.
